Email hosting services

  1. You can use the email service with your desired domain.
    1. The address you can use is in the format "username@desireddomain.kyushu-u.ac.jp".
    2. If the domain name is new, you will need to apply separately to the Information Infrastructure Initiative.
    3. DNS settings are required separately. If your department already has a DNS server, please set it to that DNS.
    4. Applications for use are made on an organizational basis.
    5. An administrator account will be issued for registering users in your organization.
  2. You can use the virus and spam check service.
    1. Incoming emails are checked for viruses and spam.
    2. Emails that are determined to be spam will have "[SPAM]" inserted at the beginning of the subject line, and "X-Spam-check-kite: Spam" inserted in the header.
    3. To prevent emails from being delivered due to false positives, all emails that are determined to be spam will be delivered to the recipient.
    4. If a virus is detected, the attachment will be deleted and a warning email will be sent to the recipient.
    5. If the sender's IP address is registered on the block list of the virus/spam mail checking system, the email will be blocked.
  3. The user name can be determined arbitrarily by the administrator.

    Transmission Protocol SMTP over TLS (port 587, Submission port) There is a limit on the number of emails sent per unit time.
    If the limit is exceeded, the account will no longer be able to send emails. An administrator must remove the sending limit for the account in cPanel.

    ID Username@virtual domain names (e.g. username@xxx.kyushu-u.ac.jp)
    Password Please set a strong password that is not found in word dictionaries and is difficult to guess.
    The password must be at least eight characters long.
    The password must contain at least one character from each of the following four types:
    -- Uppercase letters (ABC.....Z) -- Lowercase letters (abc......z) Numbers (1234567890) -- Half-width symbols
    Email message size limits The maximum size of a single email message is 25MB.

Web Hosting Service

    2. If the domain name is new, you will need to apply separately to the Information Infrastructure Initiative.

    4. Applications for use are made on an organizational basis.
    5. One administrator account will be issued to each organization.

    We strive to operate our web hosting services with security in mind so that our users can use them with peace of mind, but the system itself is not designed to store highly confidential information such as personal information. Please do not store such information on the hosting server.

DNS Hosting Service

  1. You can use the DNS service for any domain you want.
    1. If the domain name is new, you will need to apply separately to the Information Infrastructure Initiative.
    2. Applications for use are made on an organizational basis.
    3. One administrator account will be issued to each organization.
  2. As a secondary DNS, we use the National Institute of Informatics Distributed Secondary DNS Service.
  3. There is no charge for use.
